Framed size 44 x 54cm.  The capital of Antigua is St Johns its also the deep-water harbour where the gigantic cruise liners berth . Regrettably most of the passengers disembarking only to take an organised, but often poor value for money tour, returning to their ship just in time for its departure.

Others holiday here staying 24/7 in luxurious all-inclusive  resorts. They too miss out on the many unique sights & attractions; the scenes, the smells, the people, the markets etc.  of this capital town.

Ginger's fast Food' was easily dismissed as an abandoned shack in a cluttered abandoned lot on the edge of town. On a closer look it was expertly & lovingly painted. The timber in its construction is prime straight-grained wood. The structure is clearly lovingly built by an expert craftsman carpenter, with a view to it being there for ever. Just turn it around and put it on any of Antigua's 365 tropical paradise beaches...

Framed size 43 x 33cm. A Chattel House Business Development. St John's Antigua. In January 2010 my wife and I took our first cruise. It was a grand 30 day affair from the UK, around the Caribbean and back to the UK. My hair needed a trim and I was not going to pay $100 for one onboard. St John's Antigua was the fist stop and this was where I had the best ever haircut all for $10 including the tip!

60 x 20cm. Another idyllic day a little more excitement: the boat quay from that sun lounger...The colours? They are from the National Flag of Antigua & Barbuda. Designed in 1966 by the then high school teacher, Reginald Samuel, now Sir Reginald Samuel, a respected Antiguan artist & sculptor. It nearly missed the closing date and the $500 prize. His design was chosen from over 600 entries. In 1967 independence & self government was granted. The colours of the flag are: Red, Black, Blue, Yellow and White. They are also very symbolic to the people of Antigua & Barbuda. Red is the dynamism & energy of the people. Black is a reminder of the black soil of Africa and the ancestry of the people. Blue is for both hope and a connection to the sea. Yellow for the sun and White for the sand. There is also a complex optimism in the overall design: a V for victory, a seven pointed sun rising over the sea and the beach...

For me, Red? All things intense and passionate. Black? A sophisticated mysterious colour. Blue? Harmony & tranquillity. Yellow? Idealism & imagination. White? Simplicity & purity.

Then the Greek mythology: Amphitrite, the daughter of Nereus & Doris, in effect a true Neried became the wife of Poseidon. Amphitrite is the very personification of the sea itself and the controller of the open seas. She is the god of the seas, you are entering her domain here and putting your destiny at her mercy dare you step on it?
